Job Summary
The Senior Investment Associate works closely with Fund Director to source deals and prepare the relevant research and analysis including quantitative and qualitative studies for investment activities. This position requires a unique combination of good business sense and proven qualitative and quantitative abilities.
Main duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Research and Analysis team to conduct industry research and investment theses in specific sectors to evaluate market attractiveness and competitive landscape.
- Source and evaluate investment opportunities through proactive networking and industry research.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective deals, including financial analysis, market research, and competitive positioning.
- Work closely with entrepreneurs and management teams to negotiate deal terms and structure investment transactions.
- Monitor and manage existing investments in the portfolio, tracking key performance metrics and providing strategic guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the investment team to refine investment theses, share insights, and drive decision-making processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other stakeholders in the venture capital ecosystem.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts by preparing investment memo, pitching to Investment Committee, and providing updates on portfolio performance.
- Support other assigned tasks by the Fund Director
Key qualifications
The ideal candidate shall be competent in prioritizing and independently working with little supervision. He/she shall be self-motivated, trustworthy, and open-minded.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or corporate finance.
- Track record of sourcing and executing successful investment transactions in consumption, technology or farming is significant advantage.
- Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in evaluating business plans and financial statements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with entrepreneurs and investors.
- Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market dynamics and industry trends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
