Gary Dahl and the millions of Pet Rock customers are the answer. This product&#8217;s intended market is single people who want to have a pet but are too busy or do not have the financial means to care for one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dahl&#8217;s talent can be seen in the product packaging. Each Pet Rock is housed in a cardboard box with a delicately crafted handle. The boxes have air vents for breathing, and the &#8220;rock animals&#8221; sleep on a straw bed. Peter McLoughlin, President of the Seattle Seahawks football club, was the first person he approached.
